Cabernet Franc planted precisely on the mi-pente of the slope rising from the Vienne river, Le Clos Guillot sits on an outcropping of limestone that imbues this wine with an elegance more often associated with the great wines of Burgundy than Cabernet Franc. The fruit is hand-harvested, de-stemmed and moved by gravity into cement vats. Fermentation with native yeasts and without sulfur. Aged in old barrique for a single year, followed by 9 months in cement tank. Bottled unfiltered two years after harvest.
This wine is already on full display with raspberry and cherry aromatics enhanced by blackberry, plum, violet and earth. The palate is crystal clear with freshness and elegance; perfectly balanced by dense black fruits and silky tannins. Incredibly delicious while still one of the great value's in French wine.
