77% Nebbiolo with the rest composed of a combination of Vespolina and Croatina, as is the tradition in Bramaterra. The hand-harvested grapes macerate for 28 days and ferment with indigenous yeast in stainless steel before being racked into used French barriques for 18 months aging before bottling.
A magnificent and intricate nose of red cherry, plum, dried lavender, rose petal, porcini and baking spices. The poise of the palate really struck me here, as did the aforementioned seamlessness. The silkiness of the wine, combined with the voluminous density of flavor, is astounding; juxtaposing dark berry fruit and gentle tannins. This wine will stop you in your tracks.
