100% Chardonnay from a very steep section of Vau de Vey near the famed Montmains 1er Cru. This climat is famous for its southeast exposure, giving the vines only morning light, leading to wines full of tension and cut. Hand harvested, as the hill is to steep for machinery and fermented and aged for two years in a combination of stainless steel and barrel (10% new).
Blooms into a bouquet of zesty lemon and green pear with crushed seashell minerality and a touch of flinty reduction. The palate is a masterclass in balance, displaying tensity and texture in an electric display of more concentrated citrus and saline undertones. A Chablis for the ages, crafted by one of its youngest vignerons.
