A blend of Gamay and Grolleau from biodynamically farmed vines in Azay-le-Rideau. Harvested manually and fermented using whole bunches in stainless steel tanks to preserve purity of fruit. After a short aging period, the wine is bottled without fining or filtering.
A bombastic nose with aromas of black raspberry, cassis, espresso roast and earthy floral notes. The palate is awash in juicy, brambly black fruits complemented by cola spice and faint savory herbs. Again, the level of elegance, concentration and depth here is just mind-blowing given the cost.
