Co-planted Syrah and Muscat Blanc à Petit Grains, from 30-year-old vines on marl soils at high elevation in the heart of Roussillon. Hand harvested and co-fermented for three days on the skins in neutral fiberglass. Bottled early for aging rather than a long élevage in tank, the wine spends a year in bottle in the cellar before release.
Uninhibited right from the start, the nose explodes from the glass with fresh red raspberries, Provençal herbs, white pepper, sous bois and wild flowers. The palate is a lush, bright, juicy array of more red berry fruit and blood orange backed by rosemary and violets. An eye-popping wine that's exciting to drink.
