All Chardonnay from what is considered the greatest village for the grape in all of Champange: Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Only the oldest vines from across Moncuit's holdings in the village are used. The vin clair is fermented then aged in a combination of stainless steel and neutral oak. Once bottled, it spends a whopping 5 years on the lees before disgorgement and corking.
Opens with a broad and expressive nose of a vintage Champagne at its peak, marked by toasted bread, fresh pastry, lemon curd, chamomile and cut stone. The palate is a lush array of crisp citrus and pastry cream balanced by a tense mineral backbone and cleansing acidity. Long and concentrated this is a powerhouse Blanc de Blancs from a master of the style.
