'Love' White 2021 $28.99
 
A fascinating and complex blend of Albariño, Marsanne, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Picpoul. Each variety is hand-picked and fermented separately. After a gentle press, the wine goes into neutral barriques and a small fraction into stainless steel tanks for six months before being bottled un-fined and filtered. 

California sunshine meets the Mediterranean. Opens with a burst of kaffir lime, white grapefruit and Meyer lemon on the nose, underscored by orange peel and honeysuckle. On the palate, bright and juicy citrus fruit is mixed with a dash of sea salt, almost like a margarita in wine form. Drink ice-cold on the pool deck.
'Love' Rosé 2022 $28.99
 
A blend of Valdiguié, Carignan, Zinfandel, Grenache Noir and Barbera. The grapes are foot stomped and left on the skins for a brief 24 hours before being gently pressed into stainless steel for fermentation and aging. After four months, the wine is blended and bottled un-fined and unfiltered. 

Chris Brockaway himself says this vintage is about abundance. A lush, perfumed nose of  watermelon agua fresca and fresh picked strawberries. A brillaint hint of savory rosemary and thyme add balance to the juicy fruit. The palate is a wave of berries and basil with another dash of sea salt. Perfect on its own, but really shines with charcuterie or grilled fish. 

Chris Brockway is making wine the way it has been made for centuries. No chemical additives, no pesticides, no industrial yeast, no herbicides, nothing but perfectly farmed and fermented grapes.

Though he's considered part of the 'New California' wine boom, Chris is actually part of a very long and noble winemaking tradition, and he certainly does not seek out the obscure for the sake of being obscure. As quoted in an Eric Asimov article in the NY Times a few years ago: 'I'm not trying to out-weird anybody or obscure anybody,” he said. “We're trying to get back to a more traditional conception of what wine used to be. Also, we like to drink wine.'
