I'll put this simply: this is one of the best values in wine I've ever come across. A quintessential Nebbiolo from a classified Cru vineyard in the heart of Barbaresco, this beauty delivers classic Nebbiolo perfume in a juicy and bright yet sturdy frame.
This wine is a phenomenon. A single vineyard Barbaresco that could easily fetch three times its price were it not made for the sole intention of creating a wine firmly planted in tradition yet crafted for immediate pleasure. The fact that it's priced for everyday consumption is mind-boggling. It's become my house red to have on hand at all times; impressive as it is delicious.

100% Nebbiolo grown on clay and limestone soils in the Cru vineyard of Ronchi. The grapes are hand harvested and fermented with native yeast in stainless steel, then racked into concrete tanks where it ages for 12 months before being bottled un-fined and unfiltered.
A beautifully aromatic nose of cherry, rose petal, blond tobacco, anise, sage and blood orange. The palate is equally graceful and buoyant with a core of juicy red fruit coupled with earthy base notes and soft, yet structured tannins. A soulful and deeply satisfying wine.

Established in the 1930's, Luigi Giordano's history is a long one; its foundation preceding the establishment of Barbaresco as an appellation itself. Located in the heart of Barbaresco, the estate has since acquired some of the most prestigious sites in the region.
Today, Luigi's grandchildren, Matteo and Laura, are in charge. While they've stayed true to traditional Barbaresco winemaking, the small changes they've made have brought these classic, stellar wines to new heights. What's happening here is exciting and wines of this quality are ripe for discovery, with price increases sure to follow.
