Summer is here, and while we’ve been steadily stocking our shelves with a dizzying array of thirst-quenching rosés and bubbles, this wine absolutely floored us when we tasted it with the importer a few weeks ago. 

Today’s wine is a sparkling rosé that is unlike any Lambrusco ever made. A trail blazing, earth-shattering wine which eschews the industrial, syrupy sweet qualities that Lambrusco has unfortunately become notorious for. Winemaker Gianluca Bergianti has done everything he can to elevate the wines of his homeland of Emilia and continues to push for quality above all else.

Make no mistake, this is a sophisticated, scintillating sparkling wine with real depth, and a testament to the heights Lambrusco can reach when treated with real care. A wine ready for anything this season throws at you; keep a couple of these in your fridge and you’ll be able to beat the heat all summer.

100% Lambrusco di Salamino di Santa Croce, a special clone local to this part of Emilia-Romagna. Vines are farmed biodynamically, harvested by hand and gently pressed in order to set a beautiful pink hue. Fermented with indigenous yeasts in cement tanks then bottled unfined and unfiltered. 

Lemon zest, pink grapefruit, tart raspberries and gentian leap from a glass of this bright, salmon-colored fizz. One sip and you’re awash in more zingy citrus, pink lady apple, and dried rosemary. There’s marked freshness above all else that leaves your mouth watering after every sip. Serve this with a good chill and enjoy with a burger and fries or your favorite take-out pizza. 
Terrevive is a trailblazing estate run by Gianluca Bergianti and located just north of Modena in the province of Emilia-Romagna. Since the estate was founded in 2008, Gianluca has run this polyculture farm with an eye to elevate the traditional methods, techniques, and grape varieties of the area. The property is certified biodynamic and produces some of the most elegant and enticing Lambrusco wines we have ever found. These wines bear no resemblance to the industrial Lambrusco that was the norm for so long; they are dry, complex wines made with no additives including no added yeast.
