A native Galician blend, led by Treixadura with small amounts of Albariño, Lado and Torrontés. Everything is grown on steep, south-facing slopes of granite and sand. The vineyards are too steep for machinery, so everything is harvested by hand, de-stemmed and directly pressed in to steel tanks, where the wine ferments with native yeast. Aged for full year (three months on the lees) in steel before bottling.
Bright as Spanish sun, the nose opens with unbridled citrus, white flowers, crisp pear, crushed oyster shells, iodine and a touch of gunflint reduction. The invigorating palate is direct and linear with lemon, crunchy green apple, raw almond and a serious, saline mineral undertone. All supported by cleansing, palate tingling acidity. Hard to believe this is Rodriguez's entry level cuvée.
