Sourced from two organically-farmed parcels: one in Meursault, the other in Puligny-Montrachet. Grapes are hand-harvested and pressed whole-cluster, then fermented in used French barriques where the wine ages for a full year, with no bâtonnage done at all. After a light fining and filtration, the wine is bottled and released.
Taut and mineral driven, the nose is marked by a saline, river-stone minerality and flinty reduction, underscoring layers of Meyer lemon, honeysuckle, Marcona almond and Bosc pear. Equally complex on the palate, the wine is precise, angular and full of vibrancy, with tart citrus and pretty white flowers buttressed by concentrated mid-palate minerality and racy acidity. If perfection is elusive, this is as close at is gets.
