A few months ago we offered what we thought was the best sparkling Chenin Blanc we had ever tasted, it sold out in a flash. So we set out to find more, and while on our quest we stumbled upon today's wine: a bubbly Loire Chenin that's even more delicious and thirst quenching then its predecessor. And at nearly half the cost. Call it luck, or just good old fashioned persistency, but this is one of those great little discoveries we absolutely love sharing with you.

Todays' wine is tantalizing in flavor but refreshingly low-alcohol. It's the wine we've been reaching for to get us through these hot Sunday afternoons, the kind of bottle we love finding at the bottom of the cooler whose retrieval numbs your hand in the best way.

A super-crisp sparkling wine that highlights Chenin's hallmark acidity coupled with a slight, lively prickle. It's just what the doctor ordered for peak summertime drinking. So if you're looking for the ultimate in wine refreshment, simply chill this down and chill out.

100% Chenin Blanc from a selection of vines averaging 50 years old. The hand harvested grapes are direct-pressed and ferment spontaneously in stainless steel. During fermentation, the wine is quickly bottled and capped to capture the naturally occurring CO2. After a full year of aging in bottle, it's disgorged and released with no added sugar.

Strikingly fresh and jubilant, the wine pours with a fine mousse only obtained from extended bottle aging. The pretty nose opens with notes of light jasmine and fresh meadow flowers followed by green Anjou pear and tart quince. Bright and sunny on the palate, flavors bounce between Granny Smith apple and lemon zest. The perfect brunch wine, enjoy this with gravlax and cream cheese bagels, omelets, or on its own as a refreshing aperitif.
Frantz Saumon began his own domaine in 2002 after working with winemakers in both Canada and France, including the infamous Christian Chaussard of Domaine le Briseau. With a focus on organics and minimal intervention winemaking, he settled in Montlouis-sur-Loire and today farms a selection of parcels in the area.

Frantz is a traditionalist with a sense of humor, and his wines reflect this. They're faithful expressions of the Loire's traditional grape varieties but with a levity and ease we adore.
