Oh Burgundy! We profess our love for you in countless ways. Home to the world's most revered wines...but allocations continue to grow slim and prices grow high.
Lucky for us, we have managed to lock down an outstanding allocation from Burgundy's rising stars, the Bret Brothers. Working with a mere 8 hectares (19 acres) of old vine plots, they produce top-notch, terroir-driven, biodynamic wine.
Wines of this quality, from these sites, at these prices, are hard to come by.
After inheriting the family domaine La Soufrandière in 2000, the brothers set out to craft wines from a wide array of Mâcon's greatest sites. A passion project to show the world that their homeland could reach the same heights as their illustrious neighbors to the North.
Their wines are precise representations of the land while adhering to the strict natural philosophies they believe in. Tense and mineral-driven, yet bright and lively, these are some of the most underrated white Burgundies to date. At such amazing prices, we suggest scooping up all four before it's too late!
Mâcon-Villages 'Cuvée Terroirs du Mâconnais' 2018 $32.99
A blend of vineyards throughout the Mâconnais, all planted between 1940 and 1990. This whole cluster Chardonnay has an amazing texture without losing any vibrancy. Bright lemon, pear and granny smith apple give way to a juicy palate and zippy acidity. A steal!
Saint-Véran 'En Combe' 2018 $47.99
Sourced from exquisite plots on the Chasselas slope, this wine is drinking wonderfully now, but has great aging potential. Beautifully balanced lemon curd, orchard fruits, and rocky minerality are cut with vibrant acidity that balances the supple palate.
Pouilly-Loché 'La Cologne' 2018 $49.99
Pouilly-Loché is Mâcon's sunbelt, leading to tropical fruit and a softer, creamy mouthfeel. A rich, heady Chardonnay with no loss of structure. The mineral characteristics and tingling acidity keep this deeply concentrated wine fresh and exciting.
Pouilly-Fuissé 'Terres de Vergisson' 2018 $54.99
The most mineral village of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. This wine is a mirror image of the rocky landscape from which it is born. A high wire balancing act of seductive fruit and mineral tension. This is any white Burgundy lovers dream. The Mâcon's potential realized!
