Ciro Picariello 'Ciro 906' Campania, IT 2013 $74.99
Ciro Picariello is the king of coastal Campania. The 'Ciro 906' is Fiano from almost ancient vines, at their highest elevation plot. The 2013 bottling maintains its youthful character and intoxicating fruit, with six years of age giving it mature nuances and a softer mouthfeel. Still, you could age this bottle for ten more years, but its vibrant salinity and alluring depths are hard to resist. Scratch the mimosas, we'll start the festivities with this!
This volcanic, high-toned white wine is a shop favorite. It's perplexing how this ONE magnum still has a home on our shelves, but we must admit, just looking at it fills are hearts with joy. 100% Listan Blanco, expressing smokey notes and orchard fruits intertwined with Atlantic sea spray and racy acidity that keep you coming back for more. Domaine du Pelican 'En Barbi' Jura, FR 2016 $139.99
Domaine Marquis d'Angerville has been crafting some of the purest, top-tier Burgundian wines for generations. That all changed in 2007 when Guillaume d'Angerville tasted a Chardonnay from the Jura, sparking a sudden desire to work with the grape outside of his home turf. This first vintage of 'En Barbi', ONLY bottled in magnums this wine has a special intrigue. Grown on Jurassic soils rich in white limestone, this is a Chardonnay deep-rooted in minerality, and length. Pure gold.
