There's a little domaine in Fleurie which we love from head to toe, and buy all we can in every vintage. First, there's the label, featuring an off-yellow color scheme and picturing the winemaker's horse. Quirky, yet oddly beautiful and so endearing. Second (and of course more importantly) the wine: a stubborn, almost backwards in youth gamay, that can age for decades. This domaine is Clos de Roilette. And THIS gorgeous little wine comes from that same winery, but from 2 different parcels in Fleurie, and is named after the winemaker's daughter. It is unquestionably the prettiest, most feminine and elegant Beaujolais in our shop. It's a great contrast to the streak of warm vintages and richer wines the region has seen of late.
I’m proud to offer some of the only bottles of 2017 Domaine Courdet Cuvée Christie Fleurie in South Carolina. This is one quiet, delightful little gem of a wine that makes all the noise in the room disappear for just a little bit. We all need that pause, and that moment to appreciate true beauty. In the glass, this wine is that moment PRECISELY!
